Budgeting and saving can appear to be a daunting undertaking... and let's be honest, few individuals enjoy going over their financial records and figuring out where they can save and cut prices. There are various financial apps that can stand up to the plate for people like me who despise doing so. Now, because I don't enjoy having a lot of apps on my phone, I've reduced it down to the top three that I think might be useful. To be honest, you'd be OK with just the combo of the two programmes described below.
Saving / Budgeting
Don't worry if you're not the best at saving or budgeting; there's an app for that.
The Intuit Mint App, which is available for both iOS and Android and costs nothing to download and use, is our #1 choice. It not only gives you a good overview of your finances, but it also helps you create a budget and makes recommendations based on your spending habits. It will also remind you when your bills are due and offer you with free credit reports.
Mint has the advantage of allowing you to view all of your accounts in one place and providing you with alerts.
Paying Bills
Prism is for you if you, like me, despise having to remember not only which online invoices are due but also the logins for multiple accounts. Prism is a free iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Windows 8 Kindle app. It can help you budget in the same way that Mint can, but the real gem of this programme is the ability to pay/schedule payment of any of your bills from within it. They also give you the option of paying your bills via credit, debit, prepaid, or a bank account.
Prism can automatically pull due dates and balances from more than 11,000 billers around the country. If you just download one app today, this is the one I would suggest. It's a fantastic method to view and track your money's flow, and it's quickly become one of my favourite financial apps.
Hands-off Approach
Albert is for you if you're completely at ease with sitting back and letting an app handle everything. It is free and covers everything from budgeting to savings to debt reduction, but it is only available for IOS users; sorry, Android users, you will have to do it yourself.
Albert describes themselves as a "new sort of financial service" that combines strong technology with a team of human specialists to help you manage your finances.
Albert examines all of your financial accounts and creates a custom strategy based on your income, spending patterns, and goals, according to them.
One of my favourite aspects of his app is the ability to notify you if something changes, such as the amount of a bill, the expiration of a free trial, or the appearance of unexpected expenses in your account. These are absolutely things that fly under my radar, and I appreciate that this app calls attention to the finer points.
Another fantastic feature is that it will begin to set aside little sums of money that may be saved after studying your spending habits, which will quickly add up without you even knowing.
The smart notifications will help you remember your budget and will alert you if you start spending more than you planned for that time period.
This is the ideal financial software for you if you want to set it and forget it, knowing that your funds are being watched without you having to dig through your account statements every month.
There are a plethora of excellent financial applications available, and you should choose one that feels appropriate for you! At the end of the day, what matters is that you are attempting to handle your finances in a proactive manner.
